I had a conversation with a friend recently about how important people are. I spent this semester feeling a bit like I was in between several lives, being in school and planning a wedding, actually getting married, learning to be a wife, and commuting to school while working part time and continuing to work on my business. Whew. The past few months have been the busiest of my life. Thankfully the people in my life didn’t go away. People are the most important, and so I will continue to make portraits. Here’s a little piece of what I’ve been shooting the past few months, many of which were meant to inspire a painting. Many thanks to my lovely friends who continue to spend time with me and in front of my camera!
Man, these guys. Remember their mountain-top engagement shoot? They got married back in September, just 3 weeks before Jordan and I. Jordan was a groomsman so I shot this one solo. Hunter and Megan are one of our favorite “couple friends”, they get our humor and share our love of all things furry and cute. We couldn’t be more jealous of the puppy they’re getting soon.
Their wedding comprised of family and a tight-knit group of friends (most of which are my friends, so that was fun). The flowers were to die for, and I love the heck out of the bridesmaids dresses. Their first look will make you believe in them if you didn’t already. These guys are full of so much sweet emotion, you can see the excitement and joy on their faces throughout the whole day. I hope you all enjoys these photos as much as I enjoyed being a part of their wedding day!

Sometimes you plan and shoot and it rains. Or pours. And maybe a car gets stuck in the mud for an hour. Maybe you step in an ant hill. Maybe your car almost runs out of gas. Maybe it continues a to rain off and on throughout the whole shoot. If that has happened to you, then you’ve experienced a shoot like the one I had with Sarah and KC. They were great sports about it, and we still managed to get some lovely pictures despite the somewhat (okay, really) ridiculous circumstances.
I’ve known Sarah and KC since I was a sophomore in high school, and I am so excited I get to be a part of their wedding! Keep an eye out for some spirited (and funny) Clemson-themed photographs from these Clemson alums.
I also want to give a shout out to Jordan, who I am lucky enough to be marrying in just over a month! He’s been accompanying me on shoots for awhile now, and I’ve been using more and more of his shots for the final product. I’m proud to have him as a talented partner in photography, and I can’t wait to be his wife!
These three people rock. This is Chad, Leslie, and Baylis. Chad is marrying Jordan and I in a few weeks, and we have been going through marriage counseling with him and Leslie. They are funny, kind, wise, and full of light and truth. Baylis was born late Sunday night. I can’t wait to meet the little nugget!
